We made some 3D Christmas Cards to give to our friends and families.
They are very easily made -all you need is paper, scissors, colours and glue.
No more expensive Christmas cards for us!
Have a look at what Ms. Phelan's second class are up to in room 21.

Pop Art
We made some pop art recently.
Each of us got a sheet of plain white paper.
We carefully drew a circle on it and divided the circle into quarters.
We coloured each section differently but used the same repeated patterns, inspired by the pop art of Andy Warhol.
Then we cut out the quadrants and arranged them beside our friends' art.
We think the end result is seriously cool and we hope you like it too.

Healthy Breakfast Morning
We were lucky enough to recently have a healthy breakfast morning in our school.
We were given the opportunity to taste lots of gorgeous food, most of which we hadn't tasted before.
There was a selection of healthy breads at one table, healthy cereals, yogurt and cheeses at another and a whole table full of bright and tasty fruits that would be just lovely for breakfast.
Thank you to the parents, Mrs. Bradley and Mrs. McCahill who organised the day for us.

Reducing, Reusing and Recycling
We have been looking at recycling in our schools and at home.
We try our best to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible in school.
We reduce the amount we put into our waste bins because we recycle and compost so much.
We reuse plastic bottles every day when we bring in our water bottles from home.
We recycle paper, cardboard, glass, plastic bottles and batteries.
We put our waste fruit into compost bins so they can be used to feed our plants.
We can recycle all of these at home as well.
If we all try our best to reduce, reuse and recycle the world will be a much nicer place to live in.

Static Electricity
We have conducted a few experiments on static electricity.
Here are some photographs of our results.
We can't wait to get some balloons and try these experiments out at home!

Tin Whistle
Today in tin whistle we got the notes for two seasonal songs,
Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and
Walking in a Winter Wonderland.
We better keep practicing to know these in time for Christmas!

A Visit to a Storyteller
This week, we were very lucky to get a visit from a fantastic storyteller.
She read an excerpt from a story called "My Naughty Little Sister".
It was a very funny story that was set in England a long time ago.
The storyteller made the story come alive for us and we really enjoyed ourselves.
We are really looking forward to her next visit in a few weeks time.
Many Thanks to Mrs Bradley for organising it.

Swimming lessons
Each Thursday your child needs to bring €5, a swimsuit, a towel, a swimming hat and a separate bag to carry them all in.
A silicon swimming hat will help to keep your child's hair dry when in the water.
Weather permitting, we will be walking to and from the swimming pool, so it is important that your child wears a coat and a hat to keep themselves warm.
If your child comes to school wearing their swimming costume under their uniform, please make sure they bring their underwear as well.

Hallowe'en Night Sunsets
We painted our sunsets in a range of colours.
Then we cut out the silhouettes of a haunted house and some other things you might see on Hallowe'en night.
We hope you like them.

Ark 1x1 Project
Since September there have been many different pieces of art on display just inside the front door of our school. This was part of a project called Ark 1x1.
Our class were invited to write about and draw pictures based on the feelings we got from these pieces of art.
Some of our work will be displayed in Cavan Library. We hope you enjoy them.
