Healthy, homemade pizzas

Today we had great fun as we made healthy, homemade pizzas.

Here's what you need:
Wraps, tomato sauce or relish, cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese, whatever toppings you like (carefully sliced very thinly)

Here's how we did it:
1. We washed our hands.
2. We heated our ovens to 180C.
3. We put our wraps into the hot oven to crisp up a little.
4. We took them out and spread the tomato sauce or relish on them.
5. We put some cheddar cheese, the sliced toppings and a little mozzarella on top.
6. We put it back into the oven until the cheese is bubbling.
7. Let it cool a little before eating.
8. Enjoy.

Story Nana

We had great fun listening to Story Nana reading "Rainy Day" to us today.
It was a very suitable story for such a wet morning!
Thank you Story Nana.

Static Electricity

This week was Science Week.
We worked as scientists exploring static electricity all around us.
We found that we could create static electricity in a balloon by rubbing it vigorously on our school jumpers.
The static electricity did some strange things...
It made the hair on our heads stand up...
It made pieces of toilet paper jump around the place...
And it was strong enough to hold a balloon onto a wall!

Science is fun! 😆

Relaxation

Today we started a 5 week relaxation course.
This course teaches us some techniques to effectively take time out from our hectic lives to relax, unwind and de-stress.
It is a lovely way to start our week!

Fitzy Shop and Bank

We operate a Mini Economy in our class.
This is a method of promoting positive behaviour, in a fun way, through real life interactions.
Each fortnight everyone in our class gets a job to do, such as Line Leader, Homework Checker, Lunch Box Carrier, etc. After two weeks, if the job is done satisfactorily, we get paid a fair wage. The currency we use in class is called Fitzys.
We can spend the Fitzys in our class Fitzy Shop, or we can save them in the class Fitzy Bank.
Just like in real life, we need to make sure we have enough Fitzys saved to cover the rent and bills that come in (rent for the desks and chairs, bills like electricity and heat).
While trying not to promote a bonus culture, we can get extra Fitzys by putting extra effort into our jobs and other general good behaviour.
It is very exciting seeing our savings grow while also keeping on eye on what is on sale in the Fitzy Shop.

The Fitzy Bank is open...

So is the Fitzy Shop...

The Sales Team giving a hard sell...

Personal history

We have been talking about our own lives and how we have grown and changed over the years.
As part of this, we brought in some artefacts from our own lives. These things remind us of how much we have grown and of how we're still the same!

Dance little monkeys.. :)

We have been having dance classes the last few weeks with our dance instructor Caroline.
Today we created our own group routine. We will develop our routines together at lunch time and show the "improved" versions to our classmates again next week.
These are our starting positions...

Skip 'N' Rope

A while ago our class took part in a skipping session with a group called Skip 'N' Rope.

We were taught how to skip in lots of different ways and were shown some really good skipping games.

There was a small exhibition at the end of our day, where we showed off our new skills to First and Second Classes.

Thank you to all who were involved.

A visit from The High Stool Prophets

Today, Ms Brady organised a really cool Music lesson for our class.

Two of her friends from a local band called "The High Stool Prophets" dropped into our class and played some music for us.

They showed us their guitar, the banjo and the accordion, we listened to the different instruments and sang a few songs together.

It was a super cool lesson.

Huge big thanks to Finbar and Kevin for coming into us today and also to Ms. Brady for organising it for us.
